the inception

óasi takes roots in the word for oasis in Ancient Greek, ὄασις, originally pronounced ouahe

Óasi was born for those who feel like they don't belong; for the curious, and for the restless;

conceived for a world where permanence feels like stagnation, and we seem to seek for another unknown. where true knowledge and conceptual exploration is spread thin, Óasi becomes solace - offering up thoughts, conversations and all that is missing in between, devoid of judgement, and promising acceptance. one could say a respite, not an escape from reality, but rather a magnification of all the simplicity and poetry in the mundane that we tend to let slip away.

to us, an oasis is a gathering place for travellers, animals, and the wayward souls gather for temporary rest. and we were born out of the hope that every seeker, every wanderer can find some form of respite in us. óasi might sound unusual as a word, but to us, it represents a space rich with stories, a source of both material and intangible sustenance, and a quiet commitment to anonymity. while we let your words engrave themselves into our cognizance and creations, we also promise to forget where they came from.

the heart & its oaths

óasi is a love letter to ourselves, and in many ways, love it self, fueled from the feeling when you enter a museum, or see a painting and your heart feels a thirst you never knew existed, quenched. óasi is for anyone who has EVER been intrigued by ANYTHING. for those whose hearts allow themselves to get caught on things.

everything made at the oasis is meant to soothe the soul’s need for character, for softly presented information, for passion. we aim to create a space where new seekers & wanderers feel safe sharing their stories with us. at óasi, everyone becomes a part of the tapestry, a part of the weave that we then make into clothing that is to be worn for the journeys that are to come. we hope that our love letter, you pick up and add your own sentence to, one day, if not today.

when and where everything feels cold, clinical and calculated, óasi is temporary solace - a window into the whimsical.

the name óasi itself stands to be a gathering spot for wanderers and lost souls. the community we aim to grow is what will eventually fuel us for decades to come, consisting of those who make us think, those who make us question, those who make us laugh, those who give us comfort. And like that, we invite everyone to be a part of our collective, we want to hear what the oasis has to say - the ideas, the dreams, the theories, in whichever way those who inhibit it choose to tell them to us - even if it is just sitting by us silently, just observing. you don’t have to try here at the oasis, we’ll be here, whichever mood, form or intention you come with. the oasis is nothing if not a scrapbook of pages pieced together.

COMMUNITY

narrative is at the core of óasi, with stories woven from every thought we explore—some without reason, all without judgment. every action within the brand is guided by intention, meaning, and emotion. each óasi garment is a thread in a larger tapestry, a fragment of a conversation, a line within a chapter. our pieces are created to carry a story forward, whether explicitly or subtly, allowing the wearer to engage with it—consciously or unconsciously - packaging in narration with design.

NARRATION

with no object right or wrong in the world, óasi constantly seeks to constantly better ourselves, as we believe that kaizen is the closest possible thing to perfect. which is why we’d love your opinions. our core practices lie in: a) giving back to our employees as much as we possibly can, for without them, óasi is but a concept. b) ensuring truly safe working conditions- with attention paid to worker health, and hygiene c) creating sustainable clothes - we aim to create to last. if this is possible with materials that are free from animal cruelty, we give a preference to this. óasi avoids synthetic fabrics wherever we can, and is constantly on the lookout for sustainable suppliers. d) minimising wastage - as much as we believe in creation, we also believe in the fallout that comes with producing anything. óasi chooses to be conscious, to channel and transform it into something productive, wherever possible.
