Pieces to Give Away

The Pieces To Give Away series begins with a simple idea: when a bone heals wrong, it must sometimes be broken again to heal right. The collection explores self-improvement through choosing the harder path—breaking habits, memories, and versions of ourselves that no longer serve us. Inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics with gold, it asks what we keep and what we let go. Some pieces of our past are discarded, while others become part of who we are. In their place come new pieces, creating an imperfect but meaningful union between the old self and the new.
