Khroa Corset
Ancient Greek for “skin” or “complexion.”
Khroa is derived from the shading of Venus’ skin in Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. Nude tulle sits close to the colour of the body, making the corset look almost like a second layer of skin. Khroa is a strapless, boned corset with a scalloped hem, with sheer tulle panels that allow the body to show through.
On the right side, petals made from embroidered satin and plain organza are appliquéd onto the corset and fall down the body, referencing the flowers that surround Venus in the painting. The combination of embroidered and plain petals adds texture while keeping the piece light and delicate.
