Trik-trik Skirt
Trikymia // Ancient Greek: refers to a "group of three waves," often symbolizing the most violent wave or a particularly chaotic, dangerous sea surge, frequently used metaphorically.
Trikymia is constructed in cascading layers that do not simply sit, but shift, overlap, and recede, much like the surface of the sea in motion. Each tier of chiffon is cut to fall unevenly, allowing the fabric to create its own rhythm as it moves. The palette draws from the meeting of water and earth—muted blues dissolving into mossy greens—capturing the moment where depth becomes visible. The skirt is made to respond to the wearer, changing with each step and movement.
Rather than imitating waves, the Trikymia Skirt considers how they might exist if carried on a human form—how fluidity can be structured, and how motion can be worn. At its core, the skirt draws from the long-held idea of water as a purifier. Across cultures, immersion in water has marked moments of transition—of release, of cleansing, of beginning again. Water in this collection, explores the ideas and meanings of sin in itself, and the ritual of purification.
