The Helena Maxi Skirt takes inspiration from the traditional garter belt, playing on takes from the idea of nudity vs nakedness vs sin, and the role that ‘purity’ has to play on charting the paths of women, specifically those through history. Named after the classic whore/goddess categorization are examined by, with a special attention to the Helen of Troy, a woman often shunned for the ‘role’ she played in the destruction of Troy. The hand-woven, pearl-belted elements speak to the trapped emotions and lives of our heroines whose days were often ruled by external influences, such as society as a whole. The same theme carries through the embroidery, where rope is delicately secured in place in the shape of vine-like pattern with hand-stitches.

Fit: High Waisted. Semi-fitted, pencil style, and extends till the ankle. The length of the opaque layer can be extended on request.
