Khroa Skirt
Ancient Greek for “skin” or “complexion.”
Khroa is derived from the shading of Venus’ skin in Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, recreated through the use of multiple godets and flared panels in different shades of nude tulle. Nude tulle sits close to the colour of the body, making the corset look almost like a second layer of skin. Across the skirt, shell-shaped embroideries, inspired by the spine of Botticelli’s shell, are appliqued along the skirt. The skirt has an asymmetrical hem made from godets, creating movement through the different layers of tulle.
