Kalypomai, meaning overlap in Ancient Greek, taps into the idea of rewriting, rethinking, and reattribution as a way to get closer to reaching absolute truth. The base of kalypomai is formed by an airy layer of pleated chiffon, wrapping around the waist, atop which sits an asymmetric cut panel, intricately embroidered with motifs close to the heart of the Basra Tapestry - almost like scribbled notes in the margins of a book, filled with thoughts and doodles.
