Ancient Greek for “fate” or “one’s allotted share in life.”

Moira is a pair of sage-green trousers inspired by the colours of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. A soft organza layer falls beneath an outer cage woven from individual strips of georgette, creating a contrast between fluid fabric and a structured, grid-like surface. The two layers explore the tension between movement and restraint. 

The cage draws on the idea of fate as something woven around us, as well as the social expectations that shape how women are expected to look, behave and live. These structures can make a woman’s path seem predetermined, as though her place in the world has already been decided for her. Beneath the woven framework, the organza moves freely, offering a glimpse of what exists beyond its boundaries. Through this interplay of texture and movement, Moira asks whether the roles assigned to women are truly their fate, or whether the threads can be rewoven.
