Named after the Ancient Greek enduo—"to sink into, to clothe oneself”. Enduo evokes the moment Venus first emerges, not only from the sea, but into form. In Botticelli’s painting, she stands poised on the threshold of becoming—nude, but not naked, unclothed but not vulenarable. Enduo imagines what happens the moment after: when she steps ashore, and the wind stills after the world forces its will upon her; when she is clothed.
The silhouette is a gentle trapeze, voluminous and embroidered with droplets of pearls, cascading from the collarbone in a deliberate, uninterrupted descent. Cut in georgette, the fabric breathes with the irregularities of human touch—soft, weightless, almost air-worn - all a contrast to the visually asymmetric neckline, atop which a dense arrange of hand-wired flowers forms a structural bodice. The flowers take the shape of Venus's hair in Botticelli's Birth of Venus, as a commentary on the hair as both the veil for, and a symbol of womanhood.
