Kalyptre Gown
Named after the Ancient Greek word for a veil or covering, the Kalyptre Dress explores the movement of water across the body. Constructed from over 50 metres of silk organza, the garment is entirely draped by hand and stitched into place, allowing the fabric to gather, fold, and flow naturally around the form. The unfinished edges along the sides are intentionally left exposed, creating the impression of ocean waves washing over the body.
The strapless silhouette skims the body before flaring into a fluid train, with layers of organza pooling at the hem like water settling along a shoreline.
Each pleat is made by hand, which means that indiscrepancies in the pleat depths, and placement are entirely natural, and will differ from piece to piece.
