Stalakto is a strapless sheath dress crafted from handwoven silk. The silhouette is architectural - slender and columnar, tapering with minimal interruptions until the diagonal thigh-high slit that breaks the dress’s symmetry with an almost deliberate precision. Hand embroidered pearls, bullion thread and metallic yarns gather along the slanted edge, forming an uneven trail of botanical motifs, all taken from paintings and illustroial depictions of the Birth of Venus. Along the hem, a dense constellation of hand-embroidered florals cascades into elongated tassels, each strand meticulously threaded, weighted and placed to mimic the motion and weight of falling water. made to make the wearer look like they’ve just stepped out of the sea, an effect only multiplied by the silk’s fabric’s inherent sheen.
Colourway: Salmon Pink with highlights in ivory, eggshell and steel.
