While Botticelli’s Birth of Venus served as the genesis of inspiration for this collection, the motif of the pearl unraveled into a symbol that connects a constellation of women across time, weaving a complex web of stories, dynasties, and ideas. It is this intricate entanglement that inspired the name Tela, meaning “web” in Latin—perfectly encapsulating the conceptual underpinnings of the collection.
The Tela Skirt emerges as the embodiment of this research and creative process. Every strand of its fringe is meticulously hand-strung and woven, each bead and pearl intentionally chosen to create a rich interplay of shades, sizes, and textures. This labor-intensive craftsmanship mirrors the intricate weaving of narratives that form the heart of the collection.
The skirt comes in an asymmetric style, which is mirrored at the back as well. The hem leaves a trail of fringe hanging loose, which is left to move as the wearer does. The Tela skirt can be worn on top of a skirt, or styled with pants as well.
