Anthos Gown
Ancient Greek for “flower” or “blossom.”
In Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, a shower of flowers hangs in the air, stuck mid-fall. We wondered where they’d land. On Anthos, they land on the skirt and keep going. Petals of appliquéd silk organza start in ivory at the hip and tumble down one side, turning grey as they fall. The gown is modal satin, cut close through the bodice with a softly draped front neckline and a fully open back. A second drape floats down from the shoulders behind, and the skirt flares into a fishtail with a small train, so there’s plenty of room for the petals to travel further.
