Embroidered on the front, with enwrapping vines inspired by the hair of Venus and the clamshell in the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, the Creepers of Venus is an uncomplicated take on the Basra Tapestries board. Drawing from Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, the dress's intricate embroidered motifs capture the flowing waves and cascading hair of Venus, embodying the symbolic femininity that is placed in hair.
