Kore, meaning "daughter" in Ancient Greek.

In a civilisation where women were not allowed to own or inherit property, the only remnant of the mother that a daughter would carry with her was her face, her hair, and the teachings she had been given, much like the stories we speak of at óasi. This dress, to us, represents the tradition of passing down girlhood, of passing down a silent understanding and unspoken kindred-ness in that we share elements of the same metaphorical genes.

The dress draws this connection through its central motif: a handwoven pearl strand, reminiscent of a DNA helix, crafted using an evolution of the Ancient Egyptian beadnet technique. This intricate strand weaves across the body, spiraling gracefully to accentuate the waist and hips, a physical manifestation of generational bonds.

Kore begins with a minimalist high-neck silhouette, cut on the bias to create a fluid, flowing base. The structured pearl element, meticulously made with a system of soft wires, stands in striking contrast to the dress's soft drape, symbolizing the harmony of resilience and grace. With every detail intentionally designed, Kore transforms into a living narrative.
