Pergamini Sari
Pergamini — from the Greek pergaminē, meaning parchment or animal skin.
Pergamini is designed like frames on film, bringing the story of The Basra Tapestry to life through a hand-illustrated and printed details. Its borders reinterpret the sun through Venus’ auburn hair, alongside portraits of the six women behind the collection. A deconstructed interpretation of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, hand illustrated by the founder, runs through the sari, while hand-illustrated flowers fall across the pleats towards the wearer. As it is draped, the wearer becomes part of the artwork, and in our eyes, becomes Venus herself. Pergamini is a living memory and a love letter from Óasi to the woman who wears it.
