Trokhos Skirt Set
Trokhós takes inspiration from the curved, rotating forms of ocean waves and the lightness of sea foam. Cut in dusty blue georgette, the top uses ruffles to recreate the wheel-like movement of breaking waves, running along both sides of the front and around the armholes. It ties at the neck and falls freely below, while the voluminous sleeves extend well past the hands and flare at the ends, adding to the sense of movement.
Worn with the mini skirt we call Ersa, which draws its conceptual foundation from the surface of Botticelli’s clamshell in his masterpiece, The Birth of Venus. Each rise and dip of the surface texture is recreated using carefully placed strips of fabric that have been draped onto the top by hand. Atop this texture, trickles of pearls have been embroidered atop, made to look like water droplets upon the clamshell, or dew settled upon the surface, giving the top its name - ersa, Ancient Greek for dew.
